Leor Mekahel
Leor Mekahel is an associate attorney at Brown & Winters. Ms. Mekahel earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2021, with a concentration in Environmental and Energy Law. She received the Certificate of Recognition for High Distinction in Pro Bono Service, the Dean’s Outstanding Scholarship, and was a Women’s Law Caucus Nominee for Inspiring USD Woman.
As a law student, Ms. Mekahel served on the Climate and Energy Law Journal, volunteered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) to assist underserved communities, and was the Student Body Association Representative for the Jewish Law Students Association and the Tax Law Society.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Mekahel received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, with a minor in Environmental Studies. As an undergraduate, she served as Director of Spirit for Student Council, volunteered at the Scripps Coral Reef Ecology Lab studying human impacts on coral reef ecosystems, and was a Model United Nations delegate while studying abroad in Israel at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
Ms. Mekahel is admitted to the State Bar of California. She currently serves as President of the San Diego Jewish Bar Association, where she leads initiatives focused on community engagement and professional development.
